There have been many driver-versus-cyclist conflicts, but few get as physical as this.
In a Facebook post uploaded by Facebook page SG Vigilante, 25th feb 2019, a cyclist was seen punching a lorry driver during a road-related spat.
In the video, the cyclist was seen walking on the side of the road while carrying his bicycle, when the lorry turned left, alarmingly close to the cyclist.
The cyclist then moved out of harm’s way, obviously shocked at the lorry driver’s action and gesturing angrily. The lorry driver then edged the vehicle closer to the cyclist, forcing him to move out of the way and off the road.
The driver, carrying an object in his hand, then got off the lorry and charged at the cyclist.
The cyclist promptly decked him in the face before furiously cycling away.
In the meantime, there is a lovely cacophony of car horns blaring in the background, with a woman’s voice shouting, “F**k your mother lah!”
The circumstances leading up to this incident are not clear.
So who’s in the right and who is in the wrong? Will this tension between cyclists and drivers continue?
